Host Sedro-Woolley chased North Whidbey out of the 10/11 district baseball tournament with a 11-1 win Tuesday, June 27.
“The final score does not reflect how well the boys played,” North Whidbey coach Jason McDermott said. “They played some of the best baseball they have played in the tournament and represented themselves and North Whidbey very well.”
North Whidbey scored its run with two outs in the second inning. Peyton Welch walked and Aidyn McDermott singled, then Sebastian Aranguri-Plummer plated Welch with a base hit.
Aidyn McDermott finished with two hits; Jayden Boyles also recorded a hit in the game.
North Whidbey placed third in the tournament.
“The kids, parents and coaches all had an amazing all-star experience filled with a lot of hard work and fun packed into the short period (nine days) from the regular season to the tournament start, and we can not wait until next season is upon us,” coach McDermott said.
