Editor,
I don’t own valuable property, or support myself on tourist income, but I do have a good bit of heart and soul invested in Puget Sound, and the beloved creatures sharing this very special area of the planet with us.
I know the effects of Growler jet practice exercises on my own body and peace of mind, i.e. increased heart rate and blood pressure, along with anxiety and middle ear pain.
It is not difficult to imagine a similar negative impact on the delicate systems of our local and already threatened Orca population and other wildlife.
I write in support of efforts to mitigate the direct threat to health and happiness of all creatures that the proposed Growler take off and landing exercises at Outlying Field Coupeville present. Sincerely,
Carolyn Kinch, retired R.N.
