Beverly Mae Chinnock passed away peacefully in Burien, Wash., where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Dian and Dick Messner, on Nov. 16, 2013.
Born Beverly Fletcher on March 7, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minn., she married Robert Chinnock at the age of 20. The young couple moved their four small children to Coupeville in 1952, when Robert was assigned to Whidbey Naval Air Station.
The family enjoyed the rural life of this small town, growing their own veggies; raising livestock; and playing an active role in the school, Methodist church and 4-H clubs. Robert retired from the U.S. Navy and went to work for the Army in 1963, taking the family to Utah, then New Mexico and Las Vegas. After Robert passed away in 1986 and daughter Laurel followed in 1994, Beverly moved to Burien to be close to her surviving daughters Dian and Bonny, and son Marc, who lives in Chase, B.C.
She had 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and is also survived by her brother Will Fletcher and his two daughters.
