Whidbey athletes from Ground Zero Gymnastics found success at a pair of events over the weekend.
Five of the eight athletes who competed at the Northwest Aerials Tumbling and Trampoline Invitational Saturday, March 2, in Kirkland collected first-place medals.
Two members of the artistic team participated at the Aloha Invitational Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3, at Seattle Pacific University, and Ashlynn Mahelona came home with two firsts.

Here’s a rundown of how the local athletes fared in Kirkland:
Izzy Renn: first, Level 3 trampoline; first, Level 4 double-mini; second, Level 3 tumbling.
Kaitlyn Rozycki: first, Level 7 double-mini; first, Level 7 trampoline; second, Level 5 tumbling.
Annalise Wesley: first, Level 2 trampoline; first, Level 2 double-mini; third, Level 3 tumbling.
Trevor Haskins: first, Level 6 trampoline; first, level 6 double-mini; fourth, Level 4 tumbling.
Tempy Troyer: first, Level 4 trampoline; second, Level 5 double-mini; third, Level 4 tumbling.
Ari Crist: second, Level 4 trampoline; third, Level 4 double-mini; fourth, Level 3 tumbling.
Allison Lovett: third, Level 6 double-mini; third, Level 4 tumbling; eighth, Level 6 trampoline.
Gabby Renn: fourth, Level 3 trampoline; fifth, Level 4 double-mini; sixth, Level 6, tumbling.

Mahelona finished first in floor (9.35) and all-around (36.1), second in bars (8.8), third in vault (9.2) and fourth in beam (8.75) at Level 5.
Eva Bazar was sixth in all-around (36.5) in the Xcel Silver division.
