The Coupeville High School boys cross country team placed third out of four schools at the final regular season meet Thursday, Oct. 17, at Granite Falls.
None of the four girls squads had enough runners (five minimum) to qualify for a team score.
Cedar Park Christian won the boys race with 24 points. Granite Falls edged Coupeville 60-62 for second, and Sultan trailed with 103.
The Wolves’ Catherine Lhamon posted the best individual finish for Coupeville, taking second in the girls race behind Granite Falls’ Elie Bassett. Lhamon covered the 5,000-meter course in 23:09.9; Bassett ran 20:26.4.
Mitchell Hall led the Coupeville boys, finishing fifth in 19:18.5. Granite Falls’ Isaac Cortes won in 16:56.6.
Coupeville will compete in the North Sound Conference Championships at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Lakewood High School.
