Coupeville High School’s basketball games with Port Townsend scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19, have been postponed.

“Due to a small craft advisory through 1 a.m. and increasing winds through the evening we are canceling tonight’s games rather than risk both teams getting stuck,” Coupeville High School Athletic Director Willie Smith said.

“We have always erred in the side of caution when it comes to the Port Townsend ferry. We will look to reschedule at a later date.”

The Coupeville boys team was scheduled to host the Redhawks, while the girls were set to travel to Port Townsend.

Both Coupeville teams host Nooksack Valley Saturday. The varsity girls tip off at 1 p.m., followed by the boys at 2:45.
