The Everett High School swim and dive team picked up enough first places to overcome Oak Harbor’s superior depth in the Seagulls’ 92-84 win over the Wildcats Thursday, Dec. 19, at John Vanderzicht Pool.
Oak Harbor earned five more scoring places than Everett, but the Seagulls won nine of the 12 events to seal the victory.
The Wildcats collected three firsts; Micah Franklin, 200-meter individual medley (2:36.92); Jordan Fay, diving (163.95) and the 200 medley relay team (Lawrence Zapanta, Ridgely Briddell, Franklin, Chandler Landolt; 2:15.39).
Oak Harbor (0-3) hosts Marysville Getchell (1-1) and Marysville-Pilchuck (1-1) at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9.
