The Oak Harbor High School boys basketball team lost twice over the weekend.
The Wildcats fell 80-64 at Shorewood Friday, Dec. 20, in a conference game and then 79-44 to visiting Bellingham Saturday in a non-leaguer.
The Thunderbirds (4-2) had seven players score 8 or more points in the Wesco win Friday.
Will Rankin scored a game-high 17 points, one more than Gage McLeod, to lead Oak Harbor.
Matt Kelley added 9, Shane Warden 8, Brock Boyer 7, Kaito White 5 and Garrett Levell 3.
Bellingham’s Colin Shaefer stunned the Wildcats with five three-pointers in the first quarter, teammate Chris Oesterling added 10 points and the Red Raiders (2-5) zipped to a 27-9 lead.
Shaefer finished with 26 points.
Kelley tallied 22 for the Wildcats. McLeod had 10, Rankin 4, Izayah Jannini 3, Boyer 2, Josh Pendleton 2 and Warden 1.
Oak Harbor (0-2, 1-6) plays at Mount Vernon (4-3) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.
