It wasn’t a win but it was a first.
The Oak Harbor High School girls wrestling team, in its second year of existence, hosted its first ever dual match Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The Wildcats (0-6) dropped both ends of the double dual, falling to Lynden 36-27 and to unbeaten Burlington-Edison 66-0.
Oak Harbor’s only other home action this season will be in the Women in the Arena Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.
Oak Harbor will compete in the A-Town Tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in Arlington.

Oak Harbor was forced to forfeit four weights, one by injury default; there were three double forfeits.
Adelina Lopez, who won with a third-round pin, “had a great performance,” according to assistant coach Erin Locke.
