Everett’s one-two punch of Ella Sylvester and Farrah Parrish was too much for the Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team as the pair led the Seagulls to a 58-38 win over the visiting Wildcats Friday, Jan. 31.
No other Everett player scored more than 4 points, but it didn’t matter as Sylvester and Parrish combined to outscore Oak Harbor on their own, each tallying 21 points. They also combined to hit seven three-point shots.
No Oak Harbor player scored in double figures.
The Seagulls (5-5, 9-7) went up 12-7 in the first quarter and then pulled away by outscoring the Wildcats 22-8 in the second.
Everett led 54-28 after three quarters.
Mikhaela Cortez led Oak Harbor with 9 points. Jasmine Ford and Heidy Hurtado each scored 8, Anna Jones 5, Chloe Frank 3, Grace Waite 3 and Paige Fortin 2.
Oak Harbor (1-11, 7-11) finishes its season this week. The Wildcats play at first-place Arlington (10-1, 15-2) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, and host Marysville Getchell (4-7, 7-10) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
