An ecstatic Carrie Worra raises her hand in celebration as her husband Cmdr. Daniel C. Worra is piped over the side into retirement after 24 years of military service at a formal ceremony at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on July 18, 2014. Worra earned his Naval Flight Officer wings in October 1991 flying in the EA-6B Prowler community as an electronic countermeasures officer. He served with Electronic Attack Squadrons (VAQ) 134, VAQ-129 and VAQ-135; did a stint with Commander, Carrier Group Four; Electronic Attack Wing; the Pentagon assigned to Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller); aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65); and as a senior military advisor in Afghanistan to Lieutenant General Patang. Worra ended his military career as Operations Officer for the air station, maintaining the airfield, Air Traffic Control, radar equipment and Search and Rescue detachment. He deployed six times and logged over 2,100 EA-6B flight hours and 640 arrested landings. The Worras and their two children make their home in Anacortes, Wash.
