Aviation Maintenance Administrationman Second Class (AZ2) Carmen G. Lovett has chosen to reenlist in the U.S. Navy, extending her service to her country for the next four years.

After being honorably discharged and before raising her hand to take the vow again at a ceremony on Nov. 11, Lovett turned to Command Master Chief Robert Holland and gave a warm wave, cheerfully saying “Hi Bob.” After drawing laughs from the gathering crowd, she turned back to leading petty officer, AZ1 Jeff Monzella, and told him she was ready to reenlist.

Lovett is the spouse of Nickolas Lovett and mother of their 2-year-old son, Steven. She is a 2008 graduate of Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Ga., and is currently serving with Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 141 aboard the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77). She supports the newest jet in the Navy, the EA-18G Growler, as an EA-18G Maintenance Administrator.

The Shadowhawks of VAQ-141, along with AZ2 Lovett, have supported Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn on their current deployment on CVN 77. They are expected to return to NAS Whidbey Island this week.
