There are still a couple of opportunities to participate in some holiday activities through the Information, Trips and Tours office at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.
An Argosy Christmas ship cruise will be offered Sunday. Join the magical, festive Seattle tradition aboard a vessel decorated with Christmas lights as it leads a parade of local sailing vessels through Seattle harbor. Santa will be aboard to meet the kids, and read “T’was the Night Before Christmas.”
Other on-board activities include carolers, a ‘Ho-Ho-Ho’ contest, sing-alongs and a kids’ activity area with coloring and crafting. A boxed lunch included with this cruise.
Cost is $65 for ages 18 and up, $25 for ages 5 to 17 and those age 4 and under are free. The cruise departs at 9:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 9 p.m., and includes additional pickup/return in Anacortes, Mt. Vernon and Everett.
There’s also an opportunity to attend the Leavenworth Tree Lighting Festival on Saturday, Dec. 17. The Bavarian town of Leavenworth, nestled in the snow-covered Cascade mountains, has more than 100 unique shops to explore.
This trip sells out early every year, so sign up by Dec. 16 if not earlier. Souvenir fleece scarves will be given to the first 100 signups for ages 6 and up. The price per person is $43 for adults age 18 and up; $18 for ages 6 to 17; and ages 5 and under are free. The price includes transportation, holiday movies and snacks. Scarves may be purchased for $8.)
