The annual North Whidbey Fire Open House and Community Potluck Barbecue is set to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe Station on N. Monroe Landing Road.
Those attending can enjoy a community potluck, chili cook-off and lunch, car fire demonstration and games for children. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided, but those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share.
Participants in the chili cook-off should bring prepared chili in a crock pot or similar cookware.
The free, public event is hosted by North Whidbey Fire and Rescue in partnership with the North Whidbey Firefighters Association.
