The American Veterans Traveling Tribute and Traveling Wall will be coming to Swinomish Casino in Anacortes Aug. 25 to 28.

The mission of the project is to travel the nation to honor, respect and remember men and women who have served in the armed forces and to pay specific tribute to those who sacrificed their lives as part of that service. Because the tribute is mobile, people may visit the memorials without having to travel great distances.

The centerpiece of the exhibit is the Traveling Wall, an 80-percent scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Its 370-foot length contains all the names etched on the original. AVTT’s traveling wall is the largest replica in the United States. Several other memorials and exhibits are also included in the traveling exhibit.
