An Los Angeles-based veteran’s choir will be holding a concert Oct. 30.
The award-winning New Directions Veterans Choir consists primarily of men and women who became homeless following their proud service in the U.S. military.
The choir will be holding a concert at the Mount Baker Theatre 7 p.m. Oct. 30 on the Main Stage. Tickets range from $20-$39 plus applicable fees. Group discounts available, call 360-734-6080.
The non-profit veteran services organization New Directions gives veterans hope and direction, and now these talented veterans are an inspiration to countless others.
An a cappella ensemble, the choir sings renditions of doo-wop, soul, gospel, and pop music. The group’s members are current and former residents of New Directions’ transitional facility, as well as family members of veterans.
The group got its big break on America’s Got Talent and has since been featured on NBC Nightly News and E! Entertainment Television. The Choir has performed at over 100 venues and events across the country, including The Donny and Marie Show, the Democratic National Convention, and for members of the United States Congress.
