I’m writing to express my disappointment in the candidates currently running for mayor of Oak Harbor. They all have their problems as everyone loves to point out in your online forums. I hope to reach other people who actually read your newspaper and don’t have that inclination for online research.

Mr. Slowik has obvious shortcomings, from poor research to not wanting to let people speak at council meetings. Mr. Dudley has not impressed me at all. I watch council meetings and hope to attend in person in the future. I don’t know why exactly but he does nothing for me. Maybe I just hate salesmen. Is anyone else in the race? If so I haven’t heard. If I ask city hall as I did about some other issue, they’ll plead ignorance. They are well trained, after all.

I’d just like to get someone else to come out. Not me. I have no credentials and no answers. Certainly no expertise. Don’t see it in anyone else, but would like a choice.

Let’s spread the word. I don’t think it would take much for someone else to launch a write-in campaign and blow everyone else out of the water. Just a little talent and knowledge and heart. Please don’t be afraid to serve us.
