I would like to say “thanks!” for the endorsement I received from the newspaper’s editorial staff. I’ve always held that Beth Munns is a very capable and dear person. I would be less than honest, however, were I not to hold to my “objective” view that I am the better candidate. If elected, I certainly will work in a very constructive way with whomever is elected as mayor, as well as the council members.

The days for Jim Slowik’s “on-the-job-training” as mayor are over. I will expect from the mayor, with council’s assistance, that city government will be conducted openly, honestly and with the view of what makes for greater citizen participation. One of my first plans will be to televise city council meetings live, in real time. And I have some novel ideas as to how to involve the citizenry, especially school children, in government participation.

Is it not true that one of our serious issues is that people simply do not feel that they make a difference? Not with their voice! Not with their vote!
