Best choices already serving

Voters have a decision to make in the Coupeville mayoral race in November.

Will you choose to retain Nancy Conard who brings her 30 years of work experience as business manager for the Coupeville School District with the result of having an annual cash balance higher than budgeted; directs and oversees town improvements; has in-depth knowledge about water and other areas of infrastructure, historic preservation, growth management, and environmental improvements; who sought and received a partial exception for our town from the Growth Management Act because we are within the Ebey’s Landing Reserve; who works with those who are legally developing their land to create and donate open space; who serves on countless committees and commissions, including Keystone/Pt. Townsend Ferry Advisory Group working for a solution for the Keystone ferry issues; who in her 12 years as mayor, has developed relationships in Coupeville, Island County, and the state that would take years to replace; has dedicated her working life to Coupeville; and is smart, articulate and accessible?

Or will your vote go to Gordon Burton, quoted from a newspaper article, “I was hoping someone else would (run),” Burton said. “But when filing deadline neared and no one had come forward to run for mayor, Burton stepped up to the plate. Not because he wanted to, he said, but because he felt he had to.”

Re-electing Marshall Bronson, Bob Clay, and Molly Hughes is also the best choice. Their dedication and experience is invaluable.
