I received a push-poll telephone call today regarding the 10th District Senate race. For those not familiar with this particularly odious method of campaigning, a push-poll is a poll that, instead of requesting information in a straight-forward manner, instead “pushes” the recipient into thinking something bad has been done.
The questions I got was, “How would you feel about Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen if you knew she was using transportation funds to pay campaign expenses?” Bam! This is about as despicable as you can get. There is no way in heck that Sen. Haugen used anything but campaign funds for campaigning. We have known Sen. Haugen for many years and we all know her character.
If Barbara Bailey isn’t responsible for this, she had better be out there in public disavowing it and apologizing to the senator and to the good people of the 10th District. We don’t play like this and we don’t like people who do.
