In regards to your Feb. 27 column, “The more you save the more it costs.”

I’m a little confused on how your logic works. You saved 6 percent on your energy bill when you changed out your traditional light bulbs for fluorescent bulbs. PSE requested to increase prices 9 percent. Now once your fluorescent burn out, you said you’re going to be switching back to traditional “ACE” bulbs. So, you will lose your 6 percent energy savings, plus add a 9 percent PSE rate increase. So in reality, your rate increase is going to be 15 percent

Wouldn’t it be better to keep fluorescent bulbs in your house? It’s real simple math; your rate increase would be 3 percent? (Nine minus six equals three). Also, the whole idea behind saving electricity is helping the environment. Before you write articles about the “power company,” take a look and do some research on Puget Sound Energy and how much they do for the environment and the community.
