Experience shows Slowik’s the man

Jim Slowik has been a friend of mine for over 15 years. When I first moved to the Oak Harbor area I bought a car from the Slowik Mazda dealership and quickly learned why he was highly respected as an honest business leader in Oak Harbor.

Jim Slowik has been a friend of mine for over 15 years. When I first moved to the Oak Harbor area I bought a car from the Slowik Mazda dealership and quickly learned why he was highly respected as an honest business leader in Oak Harbor.

It wasn’t until I joined the Oak Harbor Noon Rotary Club that I really understood how much Jim believed in and worked for his community. From the sports stadium to the overall remodel project of Oak Harbor High School, he worked tirelessly advocating for kids. In working together with fellow Rotarians he was the consummate professional in resolving conflict between individuals that had strong feelings about how to best achieve their goals. Jim was the glue that kept us working together as a team and always remained humble when the accolades were handed out; making sure to recognize others instead of focusing on his own accomplishments (which were many).

Jim and I serve on the board of directors for the 911 Dispatch Center. His keen sense of fiscal responsibility and business savvy contribute greatly in providing operational guidance to this agency. In conclusion, I would like to say that I believe Jim Slowik is an honest and humble community leader who works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, for the citizens of Oak Harbor. He does not brag about his accomplishments nor does he dwell on personally attacking those that do not agree with him. He continues to serve and represent his community as a caring charismatic leader who has the best interest of the citizens of Oak Harbor at heart.
