Here is your chance: On Sunday, Aug. 9, the second annual Fidalgo Avenue Block Party will be taking place on Fidalgo Avenue between SE Dock Street and SE Hawthorn Street. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a fantastic meal and to enjoy this great community.

All proceeds from this event go to the Help House and the American Red Cross, Island County Chapter. Last year’s event was a huge success. One of the fun events again this year is the dunk tank, where many community volunteers will be taking a dunk for Help House and Red Cross.

My time in the tank is from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Here is your chance to Dunk-A-Cop for a good cause. If you think you have a good aim, let’s see what you’ve got. I will even match the first $100 made from my half-hour. Hope to see you there.
