Give discounts to dependents

While at a local restaurant in town the other night it was time to pay and I took out my form of payment as well as my ID card. They offered military discounts to active duty. My ID did state that my husband was active duty, the server came back to me and told me he was sorry but you have to be active duty.

I am a dependent, my husband is the active duty service member, still they would not give me the discount. I said aloud, “That’s OK, we will not come back here again.” I can not believe that even though I have a dependent ID this place would not accept the form of ID I had and give me the discount. Oak Harbor is a military city. A lot of businesses here and other places that offer the discounts accept the dependent ID. People need to orientate others on the forms of ID.

I was offended that here we are defending this county and we can not even get a discount at this place. That is unfair to people that can use the discount on items and services around town.
