This past weekend, a member of our staff completed Seattle’s three-day, 60-mile Susan G. Komen walk for breast cancer. The walk started Friday morning at Quest Field and ended on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Diana L. Fors, Home Health and Hospice nurse, did the walk on her own and without a team for backup. She doesn’t have a lot of family history of breast cancer, but said she sees so much of it in her job that she wanted to do something to honor those patients who suffer from cancer.
Participants were required to collect $2,000 in donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation prior to being able to participate in the walk. Diana collected $5,200 in donations. In Diana’s own words, ”It was incredible, like no other experience I have ever had and I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
Thanks Diana, for this accomplishment and your dedication to raising money and awareness around breast cancer.
