Norma Smith was appointed a few months ago by a group of hardcore Republican operatives. She states that she was unanimously selected by the “leadership” of Island, Skagit, and Snohomish counties, but she leaves out that she was chosen by the “Republican leadership” that had been put in place by Bush Republicans. This omission and attempt at misdirection seems to be a familiar tactic of the same Republican party that refuses to answer subpoenas.
A few dozen hardcore Bush conservatives decided that she would be the person that best represented their interest. They wanted to choose a candidate who would follow the Republican party’s interest in Olympia. She is not the independent voice she claims to be, but merely a political opportunist that really has no record of helping out anyone but herself, other than the six years she spent in D.C. As an independent, I consider her platform and message a fraud, and I doubt she represents the interest of the 10th, which is why she has lost two previous elections.
I will vote for Republicans, but cannot bring myself to vote for anybody who takes pages out of the Bush playbook. She does a great job representing the Bush Republicanism, but not our district!
