How can I have confidence in my local newspaper when it chooses to feature such an outrageously offensive, wholly inaccurate cartoon as that in the Aug. 12 edition? The cartoon equates President Biden with former President Trump as being threatened by jail time. It is surreal that you would try to normalize the actions of Donald Trump by suggesting that President Biden is just the same.

In fact, Donald Trump is the only president, former or current, in U.S. history to be criminally indicted. In fact, Donald Trump now faces 91 criminal charges across four separate cases. And, in fact, there are zero criminal or civil investigations, let alone indictments, against President Joe Biden.

Yeah, I get that political cartoons are supposed to be provocative, even, occasionally, funny. But not based on lies.
