Editor,
For people who believe themselves superior to “we ignorant plebeians,“ there certainly is a dearth of imagination when it comes to condemning the current President. I don’t know how many references to him being the incarnation of Hitler there have been, but it no longer matters. All it does is prove the lack of imagination of those condemning him. Why not explain why his policy on something is wrong, harmful, illegal or stupid?
Instead, we get parallels to what happened nearly 100 years ago. It becomes meaningless and just plain tiring.
Watching the uproar over USAID is exceedingly revealing. Schumer, Waters, AOC and company prove the necessity of Musk’s accounting. These are the people elected to represent us and manage the public monies, i.e. your tax dollars, and when someone audits the funds, shines a light on the dark corners of government, they should be ashamed of their part in the corruption. These are the people who have slowly taken over the people’s government to enrich themselves and subvert democracy for their own aims.
Four years of coverups and a puppet president left most of us wondering who was actually running the country. So, for us, Trump is a breath of fresh air. We know who is in charge, and like or dislike his actions, we know it is not some shadowy cabal doing it. Which makes the furor over Musk so humorous.
If you are going to criticize the president, be original, like him to Gengis Khan, Julius Caesar, Caligula or Ivan the Terrible. Don’t act like the sheep you are.
