Our hearts are broken for the family of the young woman who died in the accident on Highway 20 and Libbey Road this past weekend. We too were involved in an accident at that same location on May 31, 2024. It was during the day and the driver was able to redirect the car, somewhat, which we believe prevented the same outcome for her. Both our cars were totaled but we all walked away, injured, and lucky to be alive.

We support the efforts to improve that intersection. At the minimum the speed limit signage should be changed to make sense and act as a serious warning. Even better would be to reduce the speed limit. Adding rumble strips would help to alert distracted or unfamiliar drivers to the curve.
