Jay Inslee let us down when he had a chance to show leadership on getting new ferries in a timely manner. Instead he threw his efforts behind the dream that the world’s first all electric ferries could be magically delivered quickly and be funded by the dubious carbon tax.

There’s no reason to trust candidate Bob Ferguson on this one, even though he pretends to be interested in “looking at” diesel ferries which can be built sooner.

Inslee was building his Green Resume in the hopes of a cabinet position in the Biden administration. That’s why we are stuck with a tax on gas that hurts people in rural areas like Island County. He’s using part of the money to distribute $200 checks which are supposed to offset the cost but are really a reimbursement designed to buy votes.
