Editor,
Donald Trump treats the problems the country is facing like the businessman he is. He sees a profit-sharing deal with Ukraine as a step toward stabilizing the area. Having the U.S. as a partner makes us more likely to defend our interests and keeps the likes of Putin from meddling. It is precisely the guarantee of security Zalenski is seeking but is too wrapped up in warring ideology to recognize. He wants to destroy Putin, but that is a goal a realistic leader would see as beyond reach.
Meanwhile, Trump knows that Hamas is unlikely to be pacified by a business arrangement and must be destroyed. The hatred within radical Islam groups cannot entertain a peaceful coexistence with the Israeli people. Trumps suggested rebuilding plan should have found some measure of acceptance but was summarily rejected by even the most modest Middle East leaders.
Trump is fighting hate on both fronts and is doing his best to bring sanity to the negotiating process. We can only hope he is up to the challenge.
He is succeeding in battling hate at home. Democrats are showing their hypocrisy at every opportunity. Common sense went out the window during the last administration and perverts, prevaricators and pedophiles ran rampant through the nation’s capital. We can only hope that the damage done in the last four years can be repaired in the next four.
