A guy I know was at the get together last weekend at Bayview. He was spooked when those gun shots rang out from a property across the highway.
Just thinking about it for a minute… First of all, (appropriately) the First Amendment is about freedom of speech and the right to gather peacefully to air opinions.
Secondly, if the gunfire was from an agitated Trump supporter I’d like to remind him that it was the First Amendment that allowed Trump supporters to drive around in trucks with big flags and (verbally) bash the “Dems” over the past few years, swaying voters and amazingly allowing Mr. Trump back in office.
Thirdly, and most importantly, the greatness of America has come from its system of government that uses our constitution (an agreed upon set of rules) to allow the truth to come forward (most of the time) and guide us voters in making good decisions about our country. Using a gun to make a point is the exact opposite of what America stands for.
