Letter: Warning about Trump is not unfounded attack

Editor,

Calling attention to Trump’s threats and his perceived notions to dismantle and destroy the fabric of this country and its democracy at large is not attacking the next president. On the contrary. Nor is it identity politics. When someone shows me, or tells me who they are, I believe them.

Trump isn’t just transactional, he’s also transparent and will declare his intentions with rampant disregard for anyone or anything in his path. He never wants to be held accountable for anything. He once said he’s a nationalist. And that has evolved into his innate desire to be a dictator, as he says, “from day one.”

Sure, I am more than able to prove each fascist warning in comparison to Trump. However, space is limited in this publication for that to take place.

I just hope at the end of four years, we still have a country. To paraphrase a line from Bette Davis in the film “All About Eve”: “Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.”
