I applaud the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce’s decision to widen the theme of the Holland Festival to celebrate other cultures. Oak Harbor has the most diverse population on Whidbey and I really like the idea that we will showcase it. I sincerely hope our Swinomish and other local tribes will be invited to participate. Being able to taste and touch the traditions of others widens our understanding and enriches our lives.
