I believe in everyone’s right to their own opinion.

The issue with Outlying Field has gone far beyond people stating their opinion. They have shown time and time again that, when someone tries to explain the necessity of OLF, they only care for themselves.

They claim to care about the children of Coupeville.

What about military children? Navy families live not only in Coupeville, but around the island. Every time a plane flies at least one family is affected.

Do they care about the hardships of the children who have to spend time away from their parents?

Yes, we knew a lot of this when we got married and chose to have children, but there is a difference between sacrificing for the needs of the Navy and sacrificing because someone made the wrong choices for themselves.

Moving OLF would cause more hardship to our military. Moving the base would only mean that military children would have to listen to the planes in a different location.

I have heard people state that Whidbey has outgrown OLF, but I’m trying to figure out how that is the fault of the Navy or taxpayers.
