Editor,

On Friday, June 7 the City of Oak Harbor held a ribbon cutting for the newest additions to our Parks Division — two picnic shelters at Fort Nugent Park.

These shelters are beautiful with large exposed Douglas fir beams and western red cedar posts, along with lights and electrical outlets. They are great for any family outing.

I am sure that the community will enjoy these shelters for many years to come.

I would be remiss if I did not publicly thank the contractors and suppliers who played such an important role in making these picnic shelters a success.

Mayor Scott Dudley
