Perhaps U.S. Navy should add second row of barriers | Letters

Editor,

Frankly, I think that the security enhancing barrier recently installed at Outlying Field Coupeville needs a second row to prevent unicycle-riding audio-terrorists from penetrating its first line defenses.

We would then have the added benefit of providing ample space for taggers and gang-bangers — of any bent — to express their feelings with travelers on a U.S. highway as their audience.

The Navy could then foster an outreach to the community to over-paint the tagging with government-sanctioned murals designed to enhance the Ebey’s Historical Reserve along with the moribund appearance of a dirty old landing strip behind the beauteous wall.

Think of the good will that could be generated by such kumbaya.

Beating a dead horse is so much fun.
