Editor,
Kate Daniel gave us some truly good news in her article “A Family Influence.”
She wrote about Avis Rector’s new novel, “Pauline.”
The coverage of how the book came to be written was well-researched and detailed.
As a lifelong resident, Avis Rector has loved the island and the community here and seen it evolve from a rural lifestyle to a much faster paced, technologically advanced city.
To younger generations her book passes on both the flavor and the way things were done here in the olden days. The story teaches us our history in an entertaining way.
I applaud Kate Daniel’s enjoyable reporting of this significant contribution to our Whidbey Island lore. Our sense of community is deepened by sharing great news about a fellow islander. Thank you.
