Editor,
As we approach our 15th year of hosting the North Whidbey Community Harvest, I would like acknowledge the people who make it happen each year. They are often overlooked and are deserving of recognition and praise for all they offer in order to provide for our wonderful community event.
Keith Bartlett and Jack Stiltz were co-founders. The other members of the executive board are Scott Fraser, vice president; Dale Sandri, secretary, and; Melissa Riker, treasurer.
The members of the board are Scott and TJ Fisher, Jim and Carole Croft, Roger Anglum, Marty Malloy, Wayne Locke, Tina Hassler, K.C. Pohtilla, and Ed and Beth Welch.
Each of these individuals give selflessly of their time and expertise and play a vital role in helping prepare for and orchestrate the activities that make our event the success that it has become.
Once again, we will be serving our Thanksgiving dinner 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it is free to all interested in joining us. This event is totally funded through the generosity of the businesses, individuals and organizations in our community.
Donations are accepted but not required to be our guest at the Elks Lodge Thursday, Nov. 26.
Also, if you unable to join us, but desire a meal or meals to be delivered, you may call our dinner request line at 360-240-0175 and leave a message for our delivery coordinator, or, on Thanksgiving Day only, you may contact the Elks Lodge and our delivery team will take your order.
On behalf of our entire board we hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving whatever your plans may be.
