Consideration is something everybody wants.
Unfortunately, it’s not something everybody gives.
To do both is called The Golden Rule.
I live a block from OHHS. We have a public access trail that runs between our back yard and our neighbor’s. It’s been there for as least as long as the high school has been and provides a shortcut to students and others through Springtree.
As I walked along the trail today I picked up several empty containers on both sides: 7 soda cans, 6 paper cups, 5 energy drinks, 2 plastic soda bottles and one plastic sportswear bag. There was more litter on my neighbor’s side but deeper into the brush where I could not easily reach.
If I was a genie, I would command that every time someone tossed litter where it doesn’t belong, it would magically reappear on their own property.
But since I’m not, I kindly ask those who use the trail to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and take any trash to where you live or the nearest proper receptacle.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
