Vote for Severns will bring right change | Letter

I am writing this letter for two reasons. First and foremost, I want to say thank you to the people who supported me in my run for this important position. I chose not to ask for money donations because I wanted my support to come from those who cared with their hearts.

Editor,

I am sure many of you know me, Martha Yount. I was a candidate for mayor of Oak Harbor in 2015.

I am writing this letter for two reasons. First and foremost, I want to say thank you to the people who supported me in my run for this important position. I chose not to ask for money donations because I wanted my support to come from those who cared with their hearts.

I was blessed with the support given. We need a change and I chose to run because I believe I was the best choice and had the experience to make a difference for our city.

Thank you again for supporting me and my dreams for Oak Harbor’s future, where I have lived since 1967.

You are aware I want our city to have elected officials who care about the people who live in Oak Harbor, to care about how it grows in conjunction with Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

You know I care and want what is best for our city. We all know that teamwork matters.

Teamwork is one of the fundamental pillars and is critical in achieving the future objectives for our community to succeed.

The second reason for writing this letter is to offer an answer to the questions I have received recently about which candidate should be supported going forward into the general election.

After much thought regarding some of the personal experiences I had during this campaign, I believe Bob Severns should be our next mayor.

My vote will be cast for Bob, and I urge you to follow me helping him get elected. We need a change in leadership for our city.

Thank you again to my great supporters for the encouragement you have offered to our city and to me.

You are very much appreciated.

Martha Yount
