A big thank you should be given to those individuals who voted against a $50 million bond to revamp the Whidbey General First Aid Station. I’m surprised the CEO of Whidbey General, Tom TomaCEOno, did not play his hole card, that the voters were confused by the late entry of Capella medical to partner with Whidbey General. It is quite obvious that the voters of Whidbey Island were not confused and voted to not place an additional tax burden upon the residents and future residents of this wonderful island.
If we want our children to be around this area in future generations we must provide a place that’s livable and enjoyable. We do not need to place another tax burden on the future residents of this area by passing a 26-year bond issue.
Undoubtedly the board will listen to the CEO and try, try again, rather than listening to we the taxpayers of this first aid station.
