Editor,

Thank you for writing the Dec. 28 article about Seahawks fans.

When my husband, Jason Park, and I were at the bridge for the 12th Man Pass event people kept coming up to us saying that they did not know about or even forgot about it and were still able to make it out to participate because they saw the article.

We were not expecting it to be on the front page and the photo being so big. We loved it and we both got a kick out of all the comments we were getting from all our friends and family.

We also loved the great showing of all our fellow 12s to the event.

So, thank you.

Of course, Jason’s bracelet was on his wrist both Saturday and Sunday, and the Hawks won, clinching the NFC West and No. 1 seed.

As the saying goes, “it’s only weird if it doesn’t work.”

We don’t have an exact number of people who showed up to the 12th Man Pass event, but we counted 150-175 supporters at the bridge that day.

We were getting 12s from not just on island, but even as far away as Sedro-Woolley.

A big “thank you” to Heather Grimm and the Skagit Sea Hawkers Booster Club for joining us on Saturday. It was a great event and everyone had so much fun being on the bridge, waving and cheering on as all the cars passed by.

I did not hear of any problems when it came to parking and one of the park rangers kept checking on us to make sure it was going smoothly.

Kory Dyer, the organizer of the event, did an amazing job informing everyone about the rules and making sure we were all safe.

After the event on the bridge, all the 12s were so pumped up. Everyone kept saying how much fun they had and that they can’t wait for the next one.

With all the excitement generated by all the 12s both here on island and the neighboring areas, Jason, Kory Dyer, Michelle Curry and myself decided that we are going to work on starting Whidbey Island’s very own Sea Hawkers Booster Club.

It is going to be a fun and wild ride as the Hawks make their way through the playoffs with home field advantage.

In 12th Man fashion we will be supporting them as loud and as proud as we can.

Go, Hawks!
