ARTWORKS GALLERY is proud to announce that gallery member John Ursillo received an award for distinction and cash prize at the 23rd International Exhibition of the Colored Pencil Society of America at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. This highly competitive exhibit, displaying approximately 125 pieces of strictly colored pencil-only art from some of the very best artists in the mediumm runs through August. This is John’s seventh acceptance to this show and his first award. The piece selected is his “Hydrangea-scape #2: Last Blush‚“ which won Best of Show and People’s Choice at the 2014 Whidbey Island Fair and Honorable Mention in the Signature Member Division of the Colored Pencil Society of America’s annual on-line show “ArtSpectations.”

Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) has announced that Randy Emmons of Oak Harbor has been chosen as one of the 86 artists selected for the 75TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL OPEN EXHIBITION that will be on display through Sept. 30 at the Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, Seattle, Washington. Emmons’ painting, “Life Is Good,” was chosen by internationally known juror Judy Morris out of more than 600 entries from seven countries and 24 states.
