Help the Island County Chapter of the American Red Cross and “Ride for the Red,” Saturday, June 13, 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The long day of fun includes a motorcycle poke ride, pig barbecue and live music. Featured performers are Guns of Nevada (http://www.myspace.com/thegunsofnevada).

“All motorcycle models and their riders are welcome,” said TJ Harmon, executive director of the Island County Red Cross. “Do what you love, and raise money to help children and families who need assistance from the Red Cross. All funds raised support the Island County and Anacortes/San Juan Chapters of the American Red Cross.”

The buy-in donation is $30 for bike and rider and $10 for passenger. Registration includes a ticket to the barbecue, commemorative pins and a T-shirt.

Sign up the day of the morning of the event, which starts at 9:30, at either the Anacortes or Clinton Dairy Queen. The ride ends with a barbecue at Oak Harbor VFW Post 7392, 3037 Goldie Rd. Last rider in at 4:30 p.m. Overnight camping is available at the VFW fort tents for $5 a night, and for motorhomes and trailers for $10 a night.
