Things got “curiouser and curiouser” at Carla’s Shear Inspiration as employees dressed up as characters from “Alice in Wonderland” for Halloween and for a good cause. Along with a significant amount of food donated by clients, employees and passersby, the business raised $1,000 for Oak Harbor and Coupeville food banks in two days.
For more than 10 years, Carla’s Shear Inspiration has hosted a Halloween fundraiser.
“I’d like to say how proud I am of my staff and how hard they work at both of our annual charity events: Relay for Life and our Halloween fundraiser,” said Carla Dozier, owner and operator of Carla’s Shear Inspiration. “The Halloween fundraiser is an experience that brings money to a different cause each year and many smiles to many faces with the elaborate costumes. It is a blessing to be a part of this team.”
Employees dressed up as: Val Jernberg as the Mad Hatter, Susan Baza as the Red Queen, Laura Crandall as the White Rabbit, Karen Swan as the Cheshire Cat, Nancy Van Dam as the White Queen, Julia Kellogg and Tawnie Carlson as the Tweedle Twins, Carla Dozier as the Knave of Hearts, Naomie Robinson as Alice and Teresa Uribe as a Playing Card.
