The Easter bunny is coming to Whidbey.
Celebrate the holiday with egg hunts and other special events up and down the island Easter weekend.
The Oak Harbor Main Street Association will host egg hunts for children ages 10 and under on Saturday, April 8 at Smith Park. A sensory friendly hunt will take place at 11:30 a.m., and other hunts for age groups 1-3, 4-6, and 7-10 will begin at 12:30 p.m. The event will include Garry oak tree education and activities.
Whidbey Farm and Market on Monroe Landing Road will host its first Easter events from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. April 8 and 9. Activities both days will include egg hunts for children 12 and under, hayrides, a petting zoo, a bouncy house, face painting, bonfires with s’mores, and opportunities to take photos with the Easter bunny. Drinks from the coffee bar and ice cream will be available for purchase.
On Easter Sunday, April 9, a number of fun activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Captain Whidbey Inn. Two egg hunts will take place in the morning, followed by a craft table, photo opportunities and brunch.
Soroptimist International of Coupeville will put on its 33rd annual scavenger hunt-style Easter Scramble from 10 a.m. to noon April 8 on Front Street.
Meerkerk Gardens in Greenbank will host its second annual Easter egg hunt April 8. Hunts will take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and kids are included free with an adult garden entry fee of $10. The Meerkerk bunny will be there, and guests can enjoy the gardens in bloom.
The annual Clinton Easter egg hunt will take place at 11 a.m. April 8 at Dan Porter Park. The Easter bunny will be present, as will the South Whidbey Fire Department with a fire truck. Participants can enjoy a DJ and photo booth, and all children will receive a book from Friends of the Clinton Library.
