The Coupeville Lions on March 23 honored seniors Tyler King and Courtney Arnold as Students of the Quarter from Coupeville High School. Both students are members of the National Honor Society.

For all four years of high school, Arnold has been a cheerleader, on the basketball team and involved in student government. She was the student body vice president her junior year and is the student body president this year. Her favorite classes are English and math. She has received the Lamp of Knowledge award every year and has a 3.9 grade point average. She volunteers with NHS, coaches the junior cheer program and junior basketball and has been a leader in her church’s vacation Bible school all through high school. Arnold plans to attend a Christian university in the fall and study education or psychology. She is the daughter of Garrett and Sylvia Arnold.

Tyler King has run cross country, played basketball and run track all four years of high school. He has been a member of the ASB Executive Board for three years.

King has received an academic excellence award in social studies, his favorite subject, and has a 3.46 gpa. He has completed many hours of community service with NHS, and has been basketball camp coach and a Lions swim instructor all four years of high school. He works as a life guard during the summer.

King has signed to run track for the University of Washington where he will attend college next year. He is the son of Randy and Laurie King.
