Last Thursday, the Nichols Brothers Boat Builders crew moved the Madison Bay, a 1,700-ton, 286-foot-long and 76-foot-wide barge. The boat had been under Nichols Brothers’ care for a few months to undergo some repairs before slowly rolling back into the sea, aided by a series of giant, inflatable rubber sausages. Photographer David Welton was among curious community members who stopped by to take a peek.
