Whidbey Art Gallery’s June show, “Recycle: Vision Out-of-the-box,” is unique with member artists showing interesting takes on the theme.

Doug Hansen is the month’s featured artist. His work will be in the front room.

Hansen’s years of art studies, combined with his artisan skills have given rise to an inventive style that integrates oils and organic elements into unexpectedly unique three-dimensional studies.

“My work attempts to capture the beauty, tranquility and peace-of-mind alive in nature and bring that feeling back indoors,” Hansen said.

The gallery is participating in this year’s Whidbey Art Trail, which kicked off June 1.
